FACTS ABOUT BANGLADESH:
Bangladesh - Meaning the country(desh) of the Bangla people. Many Americans pronounce Bangladesh wrong, using "Bang" (like a gun shot). To say "Bang"ladesh means country of Frogs (bang=frogs in Bangla)!
Where is Bangladesh? Bangladesh is on the other side of the world from the United States. It is in Southern Asia, surrounded by the country of India.
How many people live in Bangladesh? There are over 150 million people who live in Bangladesh, which is the size of Wisconsin. That is about 30 times the population of Wisconsin. The map to the right helps to give you a visual of how many people live there. Take everyone west of the Mississippi River, include Alaska, Hawaii, and ALL of Canada. Put all of them in Wisconsin and that is how populated Bangladesh is.
What do kids do for fun in Bangladesh? Because most Bangladeshi kids live in poverty, most do not have toys. A large percent of the children live in parts of the country that still have limited electricity or none at all. They don't watch tv and have never heard of video games. Most kids work during the day to help raise money for their family. Without this money they may not be able to eat.

-Look on the ground (pennys add up!)
