Our task was fairly simple: see if both children qualified to come to the Home of Hope for probably the next 12-14 years of their young lives. The questions are fairly simple. Are they from some of the poorest backgrounds in one of the poorest countries in the world? Do they have a living parent? Are there any apparent reasons why they aren't one of the neediest children in the world? Both qualified. Both are coming to live with the other kids at the Home of Hope.
Both just had their lives change forever. By God's grace and with His help, both will get a place to grow up in a Christian-influenced environment. Both will not have to worry about where their next meal will come from. Both will have clothes, books, sports, character-building chores to do, and people who care for them. They will both get an education that most likely they would not have had if they didn't come that day to be chosen. In many ways, for us, it was a normal, somewhat eventful beginning of the year. For these two kids, though, it was a day that changed their lives forever.
