Ok, we all know the game....one trumps the other, right? Well, maybe in a child's game. Truth be told, if I were to choose which one is the strongest, the answer is easy....Rock! This last week, we had a beautiful ease in our summer after having the heat index often being over 110 degrees. The ease came in the form of a wonderful wind (I call it God's air conditioning). Yet, it brought with it a struggle to keep the papers on my desk from blowing away. So I quickly went to my international rock collection (Bangladesh has little to no rock) and proceeded to play "Whack-a-Mole" with my papers. Looking at my rocks, I was reminded of some 25 years ago when we first brought our Home of Hope children to see the property where donors like you would be building their new home. It was monsoon season, so you didn't stand long on dry land because of the red ant invasion and the flooded land was...well, flooded! In preparation for our visit, someone had put down pieces of brick (Bangladesh's version of rock) for us to step on. As we were making our way across the property, our little kiddos were struggling to keep balance and not fall. I yelled ahead and said, "So sorry!", to which one of our little guys yelled back, "That's ok Auntie. This tells us that we have a God who cares enough to not only provide the land but a way to walk. He's going to provide for what we need." Now, when I play "rock, paper, scissors" with my grandkids, I understand paper beats rock. But, in my walk with God, I'm so thankful He is My ROCK which cuts through any pain I feel and covers my failings with His grace.

Isaiah 26:4 "Trust in the LORD forever, For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock."
