Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, at Amsterdam83 said,If you only see the physical need, you will become a humanitarian. If you only see his mental need, you will become an educator. If you only see his political oppression, you will become a revolutionary or a politician. And if you only see his spiritual need, you will become a religionist. It is seeing the whole man, with a strong emphasis on the spiritual, that you become a Christian witness, a missionary, an evangelist, and a communicator of God's words."   I was so humbled and encouraged a few months ago when a donor wrote and said that for some time he has used our website during his devotional time, praying over each child by name. He did this before ever giving a penny to Hope Generation! Whether we are in our home country or overseas, we can sometimes forget the main thing. Will you join me today in remembering that as we provide physical needs, education, and freedom from oppression, our main focus is and should always be the spiritual?

You may wonder how you can do that. The power of prayer! Psalm 2:8 says, "Ask of me and I will make the nations your inheritance..." What a deal! I love getting a bargain! As we pray over the Home of Hope children and Bible School students, we claim a blessing, a hope, and a future for them. Then, God turns it around and says they become our inheritance! Matthew reminds us of this:

19 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroy and where thieves do not break in nor steal.

-Matthew 6:19-20Modern English Version (MEV)

Each boy and girl, young woman and man are a treasure in God's kingdom. Together we are raising a generation to serve God and share His amazing love and redemption offer to those who yet do not know Him. It's the main thing! -
